Two Toros Earn All-American Honors
A pair of Toro student-athletes received national recognition for their stellar seasons at CSUDH.
Ndifor Ginyui
In soccer, senior defender Ndifor Ginyui took home the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Year and Defender of the Year awards in addition to being named a second-team All-American by United Soccer Coaches. Ginyui was the anchor on the backline for the Toros as they earned their third CCAA regular-season title in four years. With him on the pitch, the Toros allowed only nine goals in 14 matches and posted eight shutouts.
Jalen Brown
Jalen Brown was named an All-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches for his outstanding junior season with the Toros. In his lone season with the Toros after transferring from Regis University, Brown averaged 15.6 points per game in leading the squad to a 22-9 record. Brown finished the season among the CCAA leaders in scoring, three-point shooting, steals, assists, and free throw percentage. His success led to a transfer to Division I University of Montana for his senior season.
