$4 Million Grant Extends Community Service Program
CSUDH has been selected as a returning partner campus for the popular College Corps program. The university received a three-year grant award of $4,132,500 that will allow the program to continue through 2029. The grant will support up to 95 students a year, who will have the opportunity to develop leadership and civic engagement skills while serving the local community and earning money for college.
As part of California Service Corps, the largest service force in the nation, students in the program can be awarded up to $10,000 for completing 450 hours of training and community service in a year.
CSUDH fellows provide service to local organizations each year in three areas: P-12 education (early childhood education and elementary/middle schools), food insecurity, and climate action. Statewide, more than 10,000 students from almost 50 colleges and universities have participated in the program since its inception.
